Where is this course located?
The course will be held on SachaMama, a beautiful retreat property in the Wilsons Creek hills surrounding Byron Bay.
Wilsons Creek is approximately a 30 minutes drive from Byron Bay, 15 minutes from the town of Mullumbimby and 30 minutes from the sister towns of Ocean Shores and Brunswick Heads.
The exact address will be provided via email few weeks before the retreat commences.
What time does the course start on the first evening?
The course will start at 5PM on the first evening, however participants are encouraged to arrive from 3PM for registration and to settle in with tea before beginning the first evening session at 5PM.
The first evening will complete by 8PM.
What time does the course end on the final evening?
The course will end at 5PM on final evening.
Where should I stay if I don’t live in the Byron Bay area?
There are a number of areas within a short drive of the retreat space with accomodation options including Airbnb’s and short stay Hotel/Motel accomodations.
There are also a number of camping options available.
These areas include: Byron Bay, Mullumbimby, Ocean Shores, Brunswick Heads & Bangalow.
Where can I park my car?
There is limited parking available on site. If arriving by car, please park with courtesy and follow the parking instructions provided by the support team on arrival.
We recommend carpooling from Mullumbimby or the bottom of Wilsons Creek road.
What is the Course daily schedule?
All Courses are full day events (excluding the first evening – see above) beginning at 9:00AM each day and ending at 5:00PM. Breaks are scheduled between each session to ensure comfortable days.
The retreat daily schedule is shown below:
Session 1:
9AM – 10:30AM (Morning Break: 10:30AM – 11AM)
Session 2:
11AM – 12:30PM (Lunch Break: 12:30PM – 1:30PM)
Session 3:
1:30PM – 3PM (Afternoon Break: 3PM – 3:30PM)
Session 4:
3:30PM – 5PM (Monday Dinner: 5PM - 8PM)
Rest for the evening
Can I get to the course via public transport?
Due to the remote location in the mountains of Wilson Creek, NSW, public transport is not viable option. Buses are available to the near town of Mullumbimby however we recommend a ride share option from Mullumbimby or the bottom of Wilsons Creek road.
Can I meditate on a chair?
Yes. Chairs are provided. We recommend you bring a cushion for more comfort.
What if I can’t attend the full course?
It is recommended that you attend every session of the course. The course is designed sequentially, and every session builds on the previous session. Before the course, if know you can’t make a session then please contact the Support Team and to discussed your situation. During the course, if for some reason you must miss a session, such as for illness, please contact one of the course organisers.
Is there accommodation provided?
No, this is a non-residential short course.
I have applied but have not received a confirmation email. What should I do?
Once applied and paid for, you will be placed on the participant list for the relevent Retreat or Course. We will contact you directly if there are any issues with your application. We will also send you more retreat details closer to the event date.
Do I need to bring a meditation cushion?
Some cushions are provided. But we recommend your bring your own cushion, pillow, or stool.
Is there a fridge available?
Yes, there is a fridge available for packed lunches/dinner for the duration of the course.
Is food provided?
Dinner: In the spirit of Sangha (Community) we invite participants bring a dish of their choice to share in a nourishing communal dinner on the Monday evening.
Lunch: A hearty vegan & gluten free lunch will be provided during course days.
Snacks: Some snacks will be provided, however communal snacks make meditation retreats more fun so it is encouraged that participants bring snacks for themselves and to share with the community!
